They were the sexiest pin-ups of their day. But with a combined age of 110, Debbie Harry and Sinead O’Connor appear to have lost their way a little on the style front.
The pair posed together in somewhat ill-advised outfits at the 2011 amfAR Inspiration Gala in LA, setting themselves apart from the smartly dressed Hollywood stars also in attendance.

Miss O’Connor – wearing a tight-fitting purple bandage dress – showed off a large tattoo featuring Jesus in the centre of her chest.
The Irish star, 44, also showcased a newly shaven head, reminiscent of her look for her 1990 hit Nothing Compares 2 U.
Meanwhile, Miss Harry, 66, who usually wins plaudits for her sleek hair and sculpted cheekbones, chose an unflattering tartan dress for the evening.
Despite her fashion faux pas, Miss Harry put in an energetic performance at the gala, which raises money for HIV/AIDS research.

The mother of four explained in an interview once: 'I'd been trying to grow it, but someone asked if I was Enya. I was so shocked, I shaved all my hair off.
'I don't feel like me unless I have my hair shaved. So even when I'm an old lady, I'm going to have it.'
She and Blondie singer Deborah Harry looked more erratic than elegant as they posed together at the Gala held at West Hollywood hotel, The Château Marmont.

Sinead showed off her colourful Jesus tattoo in the centre of her chest and the inking down her forearms.
Deborah also looked bizarre, with an unflattering tartan red, black and white dress which she eccentrically teamed with fishnet pop socks, black elbow length gloves and high heels.
The music veterans seemed particularly happy to see each other at the event, in aid of AmFAR, the foundation for AIDS research, and posed for several photographs together.

Sinead has recently been hitting the headlines for her personal life, splitting from her third husband Steve Cooney in March.
The outspoken 44-year-old has also recently criticised the UK X Factor for the way the judges treat the contestants.
'I find it hard to watch it,' she admitted. 'I don't think the people running the show are the kind of people who think about the effect of their behaviour upon people.

Sinead and Debbie also performed at the event which attracted celebrities of the calibre of Sandra Bullock, Colin Farrell and Rose McGowan.
She put in an energetic performance on the outdoor stage to the assembled partygoers.
Debbie, 66, tours and releases records with Blondie which still consists of her former boyfriend Chris Stein.
